Sonny,
The 97 actually looked better than the M-M it was based on and the 6 cylinder sounded great too. The MF 97 looked and sounded much better, in my opinion, than the MF 98 which was of simular horsepower but had the three cylinder GM diesel and was a Oliver in MF trim. The 97 was available in gas, LPG, or diesel, whereas the 98 was only available as a diesel.

| You didn't mention that the Massey 95 and the Massey 95 Super were also built by MM, and they were built at the same time Oliver built the MF 98. I like the MF 95 Super, but the MF 98 will bring at least twice as much money as the MM models. |

I am not famaliar with the MF 95 or MF Super 95 and have never seen one. Around our area they had the MF Super 90 with the Perkins engine, the MF 97 with the M-M engine, or the MF 98 with the GM engine.

The Massey 95 was the same tractor as the late M. Moline GB Diesel.
The massey 95 Super was the same tractor as the M. Moline G VI.
The Massey 97 was the same tractor as the M. Moline G 705.
The Massey 98 was the same tractor as the Oliver 990.
The 97 and the later 95 Super were mostly sold in Canada and the Plains states of the U.S.
None of these tractors were real popular with the farmers when they were new. Just the opposite of today. _________________ "Ah, the good old days." |
